Clear Your Mind: Why Guy Kawasaki Blog Sucks (Big Time)

  • Josh · 1 year ago
Javier, how could anyone disagree with your genius?
  • press controls · 3 months ago
Youre right he is such a genius, the lesson here is don't be afraid to deal with the future
  • Javier[EmaStudios] · 1 year ago
Josh! I think that's a good way of saying "hey, you are right, you can't even read that blog now!"! I know Mr.Kawasaki is a loving man and a good person: I trust he won't send me ninjas or web 2.0 nerds to chop my head while I'm sleeping (I'm watching you Yahoo).
  • Paul · 1 year ago
Javier, you are a brave man to be so honest. That honesty is good for you, Mr. Kawasaki and other Web designers.

However, you are probably being a bit too hard on yourself.
  • Javier[EmaStudios] · 1 year ago
    Paul;
Thanks for the support! I'm trying to be fair with myself!
  • Javier[EmaStudios] · 1 year ago
    Hi Paul!

Actually, I use wordpress. It's my new wordpress theme; still on the works (the footer needs some work). I usually like CMS that do just one thing and do it right! I will try EE to see how it works!

Javier, I agree he has too many widgets. You could've just sayed that, instead of writing a whole web 2.0 rant trying to sound like Tom Peters.
"embrace change" "wow ourselves". Come on!

congrats on capturing attention. but focus on content. Too many catchy titles and cool phrases don't make up for lack of substance.

    respect
  • Javier[EmaStudios] · 1 year ago
    Hi Pepe!

That's how I post, never wanted to sound like Tom Peters or throw catchy titles; that's how I always blog. I guess I have learned a lot from Tom Peters and every time I remember what I have learned, I get too over exited. But that's about it.

And I don't think our only merit has been capturing attention; we do web design.

Too many catchy titles and cool phrases don’t make up for lack of substance.

I was just explaining what happened during the whole situation and what I learned from it. I wasn't trying to write a book or something.

    respect

Yes, you could learn to use a little of that.

I like the rifle to shotgun comparision approach. Your style of writing is very much to the point and what I find most appealing about it, is that it is well thought out and easily understood.
I think the the whole buzz will calm down towarddsthe end of 2009 and most likely a new form of gaining traffic and attention will be all the rage

Well in my opinion Guy Kawasaki apparently knows how to make successful businesses, but his blog is dull. The “amazing” new site he created and hyped on his blog, Truemors, probably deserves a Who Sucks post of its own.

Amazing personality. Guy Kawasaki was one of the Apple employees originally responsible for marketing the Macintosh in 1984. He is noted for having brought the concept of evangelism, initially focused on creating passionate user-advocates for the Apple brand, to the high-tech business

I love Guy Kawasaki ideas. He is one of the most biggest name in internet marketing. A blog can add a new feature that will come up next week. A “share this” that takes the whole screen, or a new “comment on video” and will break your whole layout. The only way of make a move before that happens, is having everything ready for the unexpected.

Hey - I totally get where you're coming from here. But web design clients come in so many flavors. And what they finally want - sometimes I won't reference my website from them, as I don't want anybody to think it's my design LOL!
