This toshiba model actually don't allow a regular user to replace or install any extra memory (it says it in its manual).

With this toshiba model, you need to take the notebook to their tech support and they will charge you a fee to upgrade (or replace) the memory. Its pretty frustrating to know they just want an extra $50 for something you could do yourself, if you can guess where that damn mem slot is.

My toshiba external hard drive stopped working 6 months and 5 uses after buying it. 600gigs (a lot of it irreplaceable). If you decided to buy a toshbia external drive to use as a back up, make sure you have a back up for the back up. Or just go with iomega.

They waited to help me until AFTER my warranty was up and said they couldn't do anything because the warranty was over. AND they said they don't even MAKE the part to fix the television.

Toshiba has a lot of products, well maybe some of their products sucks but not all of their products. The memory chips are very easily replaced with a screwdriver. All you have to do is take out the keyboard. Which, if you read the manual that is easily downloaded from Toshiba's website, is not that hard to do.

Wrote to Toshiba, they called and told me tough luck. Customer service person would not give me his name or send a confirmatory letter. No pride in their company or products. Will never buy Toshiba again.
