&lt;br&gt;With this toshiba model, you need to take the notebook to their tech support and they will charge you a fee to upgrade (or replace) the memory. The memory chips are very easily replaced with a screwdriver. All you have to do is take out the keyboard. Which, if you read the manual that is easily downloaded from Toshiba's website, is not that hard to do.
